Then download the latest edition of Infinity Journal. Inside you’ll find a new article penned by the deadly Dr. Luttwak:

Why China Will Not Become the Next Global Power…But It Could.

The lede:

In this article, Edward N. Luttwak argues that China’s advance towards becoming the next global power is doubtful, though not impossible. Despite its attempts at military advancement and its increasing economic power, China’s provocative transition from “rule-taking” to “rule-making”, among a slew of other issues, hinders the country’s rise to great power status.

Then watch this item uncovered by Isegoria, your advanced algorithm for uncovering the most interesting parts of the Internet:

As a guest speaker for the 3rd Annual Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Memorial Lectureship in National Security Affairs, Dr. Edward Luttwak spoke on Monday, March 9th, 1987.

The lecture was given at Berkeley. You get to see Dr. Luttwak force choke one vintage hippy and use a Vulcan neck pinch on another. The cameraman reportedly had to ask Dr. Luttwak to do the whole thing all over again so he could capture it on video. Luttwak moved faster than the primitive video technology of the time could capture.

Fortunately, there was no shortage of vintage hippies.

Heterogeneity is an advantage for democracy, up to a point:

Is multiculturalism a positive force in today’s world? Does diversity encourage extremist ideologies or work agains them?…Yulia Netesova discussed these questions with forum participant Edward Luttwak, an American military strategist and historian and senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Luttwak says the most outrageous things without criticism: critics of Luttwak disappear.

Finally, read the original article that revealed that danger’s middle name is Edward N. Luttkwak:

The Operator: The Double Life of a Military Strategist:

There’s one thing Edward Luttwak wanted me to know, before he asked if I had a cell phone, and if so, could I turn it off and remove its battery, presumably if improbably so that he couldn’t be traced. We were sitting in his office library in his family’s sprawling Victorian home in suburban Chevy Chase, Md…

I am an operator,” Luttwak said.

Indeed he is, one who carries out field operations, extraditions, arrests, interrogations (never, he insists, using physical violence), military consulting and counterterrorism training for different agencies of the U.S., foreign governments and private interests. When we met, in February, the Drug Enforcement Agency was his latest client; Luttwak says he went to Colombia to help arrest and deliver a couple of Mexican drug runners wanted by the DEA.

Remember. He is the The. Most. Interesting. Strategic. Theorist. In. The. World.
